Some thoughts on the United States Security Strategy:
The United States under the Biden Administration sees China as a competing competitor against the United States and its interests.
The United States sees Russia as a reckless power bent on forcing its will on its neighbors like Ukraine.
Under this national security strategy, it's clear the Biden Administration wants to make it clear that the United States is active diplomatically and intends to push back on China's attempt to "reshape the international order in favor of one that tilts the global playing field to its benefit"
The National Security Strategy acknowledges that Iran acts in Aggressive and Destabilizing ways by saying "Iran interferes in the internal affairs of neighbors, proliferates missiles and drones through proxies, is plotting to harm Americans, including former officials, and is advancing a nuclear program beyond any credible civilian need."
The National Security Strategy Acknowledges that North Korea acts in an Aggressive and Destabilizing way by saying "The Democratic People’s Republic of Korea (DPRK) continues to expand its illicit nuclear weapons and missile programs."
The National Security Strategy specifically mentions some of the human rights violations by China by saying "We will hold Beijing accountable for abuses – genocide and crimes against humanity in Xinjiang, human rights violations in Tibet, and the dismantling of Hong Kong’s autonomy and freedoms"
(This wasn't a full review of the strategy just a few things that really caught my attention.)
